Honey Rose was born on 5 September 1991 (Thursday) in Moolamattom, Idukki District, Kerala, India. Her birth name is Honey Rose Varghese and her pet name is Ponnu. She belongs to a Syro-Malabar Catholic family. Her father is Thomas Varghese and her mother is Rose Varghese. She is the only child of her parents.


She completed her schooling at Sacred Heart English Medium (SHEM) Higher Secondary School, Moolamattom, Kerala. She then pursued a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communicative English from St. Xavier’s College for Women, Aluva, Kerala.


Career


Honey Rose started her career at the age of 14 in 2005 with the Malayalam film Boyy Friennd directed by Vinayan. She played the role of Julie, a friend of the male lead Manikuttan. In 2007, she accepted her first non-Malayalam project, her first Tamil film Mudhal Kanave. She played the role of Jennifer, a girl who falls in love with a guy who has a terminal illness.

In 2008, she made her Telugu debut with Aalayam, where she played the role of Navya, a girl who gets trapped in a haunted house. She also acted in another Malayalam film Sound of Boot as Meera Nambiar, a journalist who investigates a murder case.


In 2009, she acted in her first Kannada film Ajantha, where she played the titular role of Ajantha, a dancer who falls in love with a painter. In 2010, she acted in another Kannada film Nanjangud Nanjunda as Parvathi, a village girl who marries a city boy.

Her comeback and breakthrough role was that of Dhwani Nambiar in Trivandrum Lodge (2012), a bold and modern girl who has an affair with an older man. She decided to change her screen name to Dhwani after that film but reverted to Honey Rose in Anju Sundarikal (2013). She played the role of Aami, one of the five women protagonists in Anju Sundarikal.


She also acted with Jayasurya in Hotel California (2013) and Thank You (2013) as his wife, with Fahadh Faasil in Oru Indian Pranayakatha (2013) as his love interest, with Mammootty in Daivathinte Swantham Cleetus (2013) as his daughter and with Dileep in Ring Master (2014) as his ex-girlfriend.


In 2015, she played Shirley, an aspiring singer, and model who falls in love with a married man in You Too Brutus. She also starred in My God with Suresh Gopi as his daughter and Kanal with Mohanlal as his wife.


In 2016, she acted in Sir C.P. with Jayaram as his wife and Karinkunnam 6S with Manju Warrier as her friend. In 2017, she acted in Chunkzz with Balu Varghese as his girlfriend and Udaharanam Sujatha with Manju Warrier as her sister.

In 2019, she acted in Ittymaani: Made in China with Mohanlal as his love interest and Driving Licence with Prithviraj Sukumaran as his fan. In 2020, she acted in Big Brother with Mohanlal as his sister and Forensic with Tovino Thomas as his colleague.


In 2022, she returned to Tamil cinema after a gap of eight years with Pattaampoochi starring Sundar C. and Jai. She played the role of Sundar's wife who gets possessed by a ghost.
